Many youth and women in Uganda grapple with poverty, unemployment, and marginalisation, factors that can greatly inhibit their potential. VIDEA’s Social and Economic Empowerment programme is designed to tackle these issues head-on, offering wide-ranging support to help individuals transform their lives and break the cycle of deprivation.
We provide capacity-building workshops focusing on vocational skills, business management, financial literacy, and digital competencies—crucial tools for success in today’s competitive market. Through mentorship programmes, participants can learn from successful entrepreneurs and community leaders, gaining real-world insights into starting and running their own businesses. Moreover, we partner with microfinance institutions to facilitate access to affordable loans and savings schemes, allowing individuals to invest in their ventures and work towards financial independence. In tandem with livelihood support, we also address social barriers by promoting gender equality and inclusive practices, ensuring that marginalised groups have the same opportunities as their peers.
Our approach extends to community engagement initiatives that foster collaboration and networking, enabling participants to build relationships, share resources, and collectively address local challenges. By equipping youth and women with market-relevant skills, sustainable financial strategies, and supportive networks, VIDEA helps them realise their personal and professional aspirations, ultimately contributing to a more vibrant and equitable society.
