Uganda faces a wide range of health challenges, especially among its young population and women, who often have limited access to quality healthcare and accurate information. VIDEA’s Health and Well-being programme takes a holistic approach, aiming not only to address immediate medical concerns but also to reduce systemic barriers to better health outcomes.

Our team organises targeted community initiatives on sexual & reproductive health, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS awareness, teenage pregnancy prevention, and maternal healthcare. By partnering with local health facilities, we streamline access to vital services such as prenatal check-ups and mental health support, which can be especially challenging in rural or underserved areas. Additionally, we champion the economic empowerment of women and adolescent girls, recognising that financial independence and educational opportunities significantly reduce health risks. We work closely with schools, youth groups, and cultural leaders to dispel misconceptions and stigma surrounding topics like family planning, HIV testing, and mental health care. Through open dialogues and peer support networks, participants are encouraged to share experiences and learn practical strategies for maintaining well-being.

By addressing these health challenges at their roots and ensuring continuous support, our programme not only improves individual lives but also strengthens entire communities, creating a healthier, more informed, and empowered generation ready to contribute to Uganda’s sustainable growth.
